She explained she did so for the children who dare not do so in Sweden today. Additionally, she attacked the Left Party over support letters sent by its members to Palestinian prisoners.
During a debate between party leaders broadcast on Monday night, Simona Mohamad, leader of the Liberal Party and Sweden's Minister of Education and Integration, appeared wearing a Star of David necklace. Mohamad, a Shia Muslim born to a Palestinian father and a Lebanese mother, explained she wore the Star of David for the children who dare not do so in Sweden today. Additionally, she clashed with the Left Party following revelations that its parliament members sent support letters to Palestinian prisoners convicted of terror attacks in which Israelis were killed. Mohamad said the Left Party should be responsible for sending love letters to Hamas and spreading fear in the streets. The event is described as one of the most prominent moments in Sweden's election campaign.
