The battles between the Houthis and the Yemeni forces backed by Saudi Arabia continue this morning (Monday), and the Yemeni forces have regained areas southwest of the city of Taiz that Houthi fighters infiltrated during the night. The Saudi Al Arabiya channel reported on the recapture. Fighting in the Taiz area has intensified in recent weeks, and forces affiliated with the Yemeni government and the "Homeland Shield" units, backed by Saudi Arabia, have carried out a series of counterattacks. Earlier this month, the Yemeni army announced it had regained control of additional areas west of Taiz. The struggle is gradually returning Yemen to a state of full-scale war, after a relative calm since the 2022 ceasefire. Front lines are expanding, and Taiz, the western coast, and Bab el-Mandeb are once again becoming the main focal points of conflict.
