The captive child Muhammad Hamid remains in critical health condition

The Prisoners' Club announces that the child Muhammad Hamid (16 years old) from Tuqu' remains in critical health condition at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Israel, where he is undergoing a new heart surgery today after a catheterization yesterday. The operations come after a series of medical procedures since his transfer from Ofer Prison, one of which ended with the amputation of his foot on his 13th birthday in August. The club confirms that his condition deteriorated due to medical negligence in the prison.

The Palestinian Prisoners' Club reported that the child Muhammad Hamid (16 years old) from the town of Tuqu' in the Bethlehem Governorate remains in critical health condition at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Israel. Hamid is undergoing a new heart surgery today, Friday, after undergoing a catheterization yesterday that revealed inflammation in the artery where a previous operation was performed. These operations come after a series of medical procedures since his transfer from Ofer Prison, where one of the previous operations ended with the amputation of one of his feet on August 13, which coincided with his birthday. Hamid was arrested in February 2026 and contracted scabies while in Ofer. After about four months of his infection, his health condition began to deteriorate rapidly, necessitating his transfer to the hospital, where it was found that he was suffering from severe infections in his vital organs due to the lack of necessary medical care during his detention. The Prisoners' Club confirmed that Hamid's family is facing pressure from the hospital to pay for treatment costs, despite the responsibility lying with the administration of Ofer Prison, which deprived him of care. The club views this case as embodying a systematic policy of medical negligence towards detainees, reaching critical stages and then releasing them to evade responsibility.
