According to him, Avigdor Liberman is trying to prepare the ground and present himself as a legitimate candidate for prime minister, appealing to the religious-nationalist and security-minded audience. On the other hand, Naftali Bennett is suffering a free fall in polls, although the party union initially gave new momentum. Peri reports internal pressures within the union to withdraw from the agreement, due to a feeling that the wind is no longer there. He estimates that if the fall is not stopped, the parties may separate. It was also said that both Bennett and Lapid care first about their parties, despite the talk of unity.
