The attack from within the Peace Council: "Not a single day of quiet, Hamas violates but so does Israel"

Sources in the Peace Council of US President Donald Trump claimed this evening (Wednesday) that Israel is sabotaging the 20-point plan for Gaza - which it itself adopted and was among its planners. On the sidelines of the MEAD conference in Washington, the sources said there is a strong feeling that Israel is looking for excuses not to advance the plan. The council estimates that nothing will happen before the elections but would like to see signs of progress on disarmament even before then. "If only we had two weeks of quiet we would want to show buds of disarmament to create hope," they said. "But today there is not even a single day of quiet. Hamas violates the agreements but so does Israel." Meanwhile, the Peace Council is building the infrastructure for the day after the elections in Israel to advance the second phase. Behind the scenes, there is an effort to expand the international ISF stabilization force. Among the agreements being formed: bringing 1,200 soldiers from Uganda, up to 500 soldiers from Burundi, up to 500 soldiers from Morocco, 25 from Kosovo, and another 150 from Kazakhstan and Albania. Indonesia, which previously considered sending 8,000 soldiers to the stabilization force in Gaza, withdrew during the war with Iran - but is now feeling its way back to the force. The international force will initially reach 2,500 soldiers, whose role will be to secure the entry of the Palestinian technocratic committee (NCAG) into southern Gaza. A source in the Peace Council accused Israel of creating difficulties for sending police for training in Egypt, and also creating difficulties for bringing foreign soldiers into the international stabilization force. Sources in the Palestinian technocratic committee were more optimistic and said that compared to the situation in Gaza a year ago - there is a noticeable improvement. "A year ago there was mass killing, there were hostages, there was little humanitarian aid. Today there are no hostages. The killing has dropped from 100 a day to 1-2 a day. There is much more humanitarian aid," they said. The committee sources also said that about 90 percent of Gaza residents now oppose Hamas, and that the organization's popularity is in steep decline. The Peace Board demands that Hamas surrender its weapons publicly and documented, with each armed individual required to publish a YouTube video documenting the weapon surrender and renunciation of terrorism - as a condition for receiving immunity. Israel believes the chances of disarming Hamas are low, but worth the effort to exhaust the American plan.
