Nine members of the 'Al Asmar' gang were convicted in a plea deal of conspiracy to commit murder, as part of a conflict with the 'Sabikhat' gang. According to the amended indictment, they planned to drop a grenade or bomb using drones on members of the rival gang, and for this purpose conducted experiments dropping water bottles from a great height. They also planned to booby-trap a Renault car with explosives and bring it into the home of 'Sabikhat' members, as well as shoot at the wheels of an armored vehicle to cause it to overturn and then shoot at its occupants. The conflict began in 2024 over attempts to take over criminal territories in the village of Zalpa, and escalated in January 2025. The agreed sentences in the deal reach up to three years in prison.
