Thailand tired of Israelis: residents demand strict control and punishment for law violations

In Thailand, public discontent over the behavior of Israelis is growing. A poll by the NIDA institute, published on September 14, found that 77.49% of 1,410 respondents had personally encountered or heard about problematic behavior by Israelis. All of them believe authorities should apply stricter measures. Among the main complaints are disrespect for Thai laws (70%), rude speech (46.39%), and disrespect for local culture (45.96%). 45% of respondents believe the permitted stay period for Israelis should be reduced. The poll was conducted amid protests at the Israeli embassy in Bangkok on September 10, where calls to boycott Israel were heard. Israeli Deputy Ambassador Rami Teplitsky published a video statement, saying he is cooperating with local authorities and publishing a code of conduct for tourists. In the first eight months of 2026, more than 277,000 Israelis visited Thailand, a 7% increase from the previous year.
