Terrorist who held Romi Gonen and Cpl. Noa Marciano, may their memory be blessed, eliminated

The IDF and Shin Bet announced the elimination of Abd al-Rahim Abd al-Hayy Yusuf Kardi, deputy head of a cell in Hamas's military wing, who also served as a doctor at Shifa Hospital. Kardi was involved in holding hostages Romi Gonen and Cpl. Noa Marciano, may her memory be blessed, and was killed in an airstrike in the Gaza City area. The Shin Bet and IDF stated that forces will continue to operate to remove any threat.

Kardi infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre and was involved in holding hostage Romi Gonen in the Gaza Brigade area and at Shifa Hospital, and in holding hostage Cpl. During the war, and especially recently, Kardi continued to try to advance terror schemes against IDF forces and Israeli civilians. He posed a threat and was eliminated in an airstrike.
