In recent days, there has been an escalation in IDF strikes in the Gaza Strip, after more than a week without Israeli attacks. The strikes include targets of Hamas militants who are not necessarily defined as an immediate threat to forces along the yellow line. A security source told political correspondent Guy Azriel: "We have made clear that targeted killings will continue both against those responsible for the October 7 massacre and against those who will pose a threat to the forces." According to him, this followed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statements in a security consultation, according to which the rules of engagement have not changed and there is backing for forces to thwart any threat. The change in trend comes after two weeks in which the Peace Council claimed that Israel is committed to the roadmap and the ceasefire. A political source added that Israel stands behind the rejection of the 15-point plan, which appears as a frontal clash with the Peace Council.
