Tens of Thousands Perform Friday Prayer at Al-Aqsa

Tens of thousands of Palestinians performed Friday prayer at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and its courtyards, despite the tightened military measures imposed by the Israeli occupation forces on the entrances to the mosque and the Old City in occupied Jerusalem. The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem reported that about 70,000 worshippers performed the prayer. The occupation forces intensified their security measures, set up military checkpoints, subjected worshippers to thorough searches, and prevented some from entering. Additionally, 162 settlers stormed the mosque's courtyards yesterday, Thursday.

The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem reported that about 70,000 worshippers performed Friday prayer at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The occupation forces intensified their security measures around the Al-Aqsa Mosque, set up military checkpoints at its gates and the entrances to the Old City, subjected worshippers to thorough search procedures, and checked their identities. They also prevented a number of citizens from entering the mosque, as part of the ongoing restrictions on freedom of worship. Yesterday, Thursday, 162 settlers stormed the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the direction of the "Mughrabi Gate," which is under occupation control, in the morning period, and conducted provocative tours there, before exiting through the "Chain Gate."
