Tel Aviv cleaning worker found to be illegal resident, employer arrested

In an operation by Yarkon District police over the weekend, 13 residents of Judea and Samaria who were in Israel without stay permits were arrested. Among the notable cases: a road sweeper arrested while working in central Tel Aviv. His employer, a 55-year-old resident of Tayibe, was arrested on suspicion of employing him illegally. The two were transferred for questioning and jailed. In another incident, a 24-year-old resident of Tulkarm was arrested on suspicion of involvement in a violent incident near a club on Ibn Gabirol Street. His detention was extended until July 28. Tel Aviv North station police arrested two residents of Judea and Samaria riding stolen electric bicycles; the bicycle owner was summoned to the station and received his property. In another operation by the Glilot station, nine residents of Judea and Samaria were arrested in an apartment under renovation in Herzliya. Police are working to locate the apartment owners and the employer.
