Tehran Threatens: Revenge for Khamenei's Death Inevitable

Iranian military officials and media are calling for retaliation for the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, warning the US and Israel of consequences. Advisor to the Chief of Staff Majid Mir-Ahmadi accused Israel and the US, promising retaliatory actions. Editor-in-chief of the Kayhan newspaper Hossein Shariatmadari stated that refusing revenge would encourage further actions against Iran, and outlined demands: closure of the Strait of Hormuz, compensation from the US, and withdrawal of forces.

In Tehran, sharp statements were made about the need to avenge the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, along with threats against Israel and the US. Advisor to the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Majid Mir-Ahmadi issued a harsh statement, accusing Israel and the US and promising retaliatory actions. According to him, 'the perpetrators and commanders involved in the murder of the late Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei must, in accordance with the Quranic injunction, be punished as they committed their crime.' He emphasized that 'the issue of revenge and blood retribution is not just a personal matter, but a national issue concerning the entire Islamic nation.' Meanwhile, the editor-in-chief of the conservative Iranian newspaper Kayhan, Hossein Shariatmadari, in an interview with the Fars agency, stated that refusing revenge would mean encouraging further actions against Iran. He also noted: 'Revenge is not a personal matter, and if its significance is downplayed, it means giving the US and Israel the opportunity to do whatever they want.' Shariatmadari also commented on written messages on behalf of Mojtaba Khamenei, stating that the signal is 'clear and direct,' and its content includes several demands: the Strait of Hormuz must remain closed, the United States must pay compensation to Iran and withdraw its forces from the region, and the nuclear issue should not be part of any negotiations.
