The investigation, led by the Petah Tikva police, focuses on two incidents involving Dayan: a brawl that occurred between Dayan, his two arrested friends, and several young men he knows, and a hit-and-run accident involving the two detainees. The two groups apparently met in a park in the area between Hod HaSharon and Kfar Saba. The three were last seen at the convenience store at the Shiona gas station at the Yarkon Junction near the Baptist village. During the hearing, a police representative said that one person was injured in the leg due to the accident, and that the two suspects are exercising their right to remain silent. When asked how he is sure of this, he replied that there is testimony from other involved parties about what happened in the car, and that the version they have is from other suspects explaining the damage to the vehicle. The judge noted that the concern for obstruction has intensified, and he ordered their continued detention until August 6 and the immediate transfer of the case to the prosecution.
