Suspicion: Parents Allegedly Lured Their Children to Steal and Hid Loot in Baby's Stroller

Israeli police are investigating a couple from Haifa suspected of exploiting their minor children and their infant's stroller to carry out systematic thefts from stores in Eilat during a family vacation. According to the suspicion, the children, aged eight and nine, were lured by their parents to steal, and the loot was hidden in the stroller of their one-year-old baby. The value of the stolen property is estimated at over 100,000 shekels. The mother was released to house arrest, the father remains in custody.

According to the suspicion, the children, aged eight and nine, were lured by their parents to actively participate in the thefts, and the loot was hidden in the stroller of their one-year-old baby to smuggle it out of the stores. The value of the stolen property is estimated at over 100,000 shekels. Last Friday (July 24, 2026), the district court rejected the police's request to extend the mother's detention and ordered her release to house arrest under restrictive conditions. The father remains in custody, extended until this Thursday (July 30, 2026). The investigation file will be transferred in the coming days to the Eilat prosecution unit for a decision on filing an indictment.
