The documents show that the Shin Bet spokesperson's office provided Caspit with precise details about arrests, dates, and restraining orders, including that Yered was arrested 17 times and his last arrest was in August 2022. This information is allegedly protected under the Criminal Registry Law and the Privacy Protection Law. The affair began with a tweet by Caspit claiming Yered was under administrative detention, a claim that led to the defamation lawsuit. In his affidavit, Caspit claims he relied on the information from the Shin Bet. Attorney Menashe Yado from the Honenu organization, representing Yered, argues that the Shin Bet committed a serious criminal offense and thwarted the parliamentary appointment of MK Limor Son Har-Melech. The Shin Bet has not responded.
