Police are investigating a new connection in the grenade war between crime organizations. According to suspicion, members of the Hariri family supplied grenades to Mosly's people in the framework of the prolonged and violent conflict with the Jarushi family. The investigation began at the start of the month, after a 35-year-old suspect from Bat Yam was arrested on Highway 6, with two IDF fragmentation grenades in the trunk of his car. According to suspicion, he was traveling north to bring grenades to central Israel. Findings from the phones seized in the vehicle strengthened the suspicion of a connection to the affair. Subsequently, Yakir Mimoni, identified with the Mosly organization, was arrested. Near his apartment in south Tel Aviv, two additional fragmentation grenades and two pistols were seized, hidden inside a washing machine. He is also suspected of obstruction, after according to police he tried to hide a SIM card. The major development came in recent days with the arrest of Ahmed Hariri, 21, son of Yosef Hariri, on suspicion of arms trafficking. Police suspect that he is the one who provided the grenades that were seized. Hariri, who exercised his right to remain silent during his interrogation, is also suspected of obstruction: he knew an arrest warrant had been issued against him, did not show up, and the next day was located with a suitcase—and according to suspicion, intended to disappear.
