Suspected Scam of Holocaust Survivor: Stole Credit Card and Went on Shopping Spree

A 54-year-old Haifa resident was arrested on suspicion of stealing a credit card and property from a 90-year-old Holocaust survivor, after impersonating a medical team member at her home. According to the suspicion, the woman made purchases worth thousands of shekels while violating electronic monitoring conditions. The police will request an extension of her detention.

A 54-year-old Haifa resident was arrested on suspicion of scamming a Holocaust survivor in her 90s. According to the suspicion, the woman stole the victim's credit card while they were traveling together, then went to her home and impersonated a medical team member coming to perform tests. During the visit, she stole additional property, and later went on a shopping spree with the stolen card worth thousands of shekels. Haifa station investigators conducted investigative actions that led to the identification and arrest of the suspect. During the arrest, it emerged that the suspect was under electronic monitoring, which she allegedly violated while committing the offenses. The police will request an extension of her detention according to investigative needs.
