The Rishon LeZion Magistrate's Court extended last night (Saturday) by four days the remand of Suliman Abu Ammar, a resident of Ramla, suspected of attempting to murder his ex-wife and daughter. The incident occurred last Friday on Tamar Street in Ramla, near their home. The daughter, 19, was seriously injured, while the mother was moderately injured. Meanwhile, police investigators are examining suspicions of an attempt to tamper with evidence at the scene. The hearing revealed that the suspect has a criminal record and has a suspended sentence that can be activated. One of the central questions in the investigation is whether the suspect planned to harm the two in advance or acted spontaneously. Police representative, Chief Warrant Officer Dror Israeli, said in the hearing that the location and nature of the stabbings indicate severe, deliberate, and lethal intentions, not a random act. Abu Ammar was questioned and reportedly gave a version concerning his daily routine without addressing the serious incident. He is suspected of attempted murder, stabbing, illegal possession of a knife, threats, assault, and obstruction of justice. Judge Oshrit Huber Heiman ruled that he will remain in custody until August 26.
