A large fire broke out this evening (Saturday) at a vehicle scrapyard in the industrial zone of Kiryat Arba. Firefighting teams are working to control the flames that engulfed hundreds of cars, as suspicion is being investigated that the fire was caused by arson. The fire led to the explosion of several gas canisters. Due to the scale of the blaze, dozens of firefighters from the Yehuda station and reinforcement teams from neighboring districts were called in. Firefighting efforts are focused on preventing the flames from spreading to an adjacent car lot. The fire does not endanger residents' homes. Meanwhile, investigators are examining the suspicion of arson, but a thorough investigation will only be possible after operations conclude and the area cools down. Commander of the Yehuda station, Deputy Chief Tamir Erez, stated that this is a significant fire with many vehicles and gas canisters bursting from the heat. According to him, upon the arrival of the first teams, firefighters from additional stations were dispatched, and they are operating at several locations where high-voltage power lines were damaged. Soldiers are assisting with water supply.
