First publication: Omri Peretz, a friend of Eldar Dayan and a murder suspect, hid his phone after the incident and for days refused to hand it over to investigators. Only after pressure and investigative tactics, and during the past week, did he agree to surrender the device, and his family transferred it to the Dimona police. The investigators broke into the phone, and the findings from it helped complete parts of the picture of the events preceding Dayan's disappearance and death. A source in the investigation says: "There is a reason he didn't want to give the phone." The police arrested all seven involved in the case - two of Eldar's friends and five additional suspects involved in a brawl over a drug deal. In their interrogations, the five reinforced the friends' version. The investigators determined there was no connection between the two groups after the brawl, but the question of what happened to Eldar from the moment of his disappearance and what caused his death - injury, drugs, dehydration, or a combination - remains open. A source in the investigation said: "We are turning over every stone, but we may never know exactly what happened to Eldar."
