Suing for $100,000, ex-worker accuses Sara Netanyahu of verbal, physical abuse

A 61-year-old former employee of the Prime Minister's Residence in Jerusalem, Yehiel Ohev-Ami, has filed a lawsuit against Sara Netanyahu, the wife of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, seeking NIS 300,000 ($98,000) in damages. The lawsuit alleges that Netanyahu subjected him to verbal and physical abuse during his employment, which ended about five months ago. Ohev-Ami claims he was required to perform demeaning tasks, such as wiping the soles of the couple's shoes daily, and was subjected to 'a torrent of screams and swearing' for minor mistakes. He also alleges that Netanyahu shoved him against a wall on three occasions, shouting insults like 'Who's stupid?' and 'Who's retarded?' In a December 2025 incident, she allegedly 'diagnosed' him with autism and demanded he pay her for the diagnosis, saying 'My therapy costs a lot of money.' The lawsuit also accuses Netanyahu's son Yair of inappropriate behavior and criticizes the plaintiff's supervisor, Efi Azulai. The Prime Minister's Office issued a statement denying the claims, saying they 'have no basis' and that Ohev-Ami was terminated for professional reasons. This is not the first such accusation against Sara Netanyahu; previous cases include a 2017 lawsuit by Menny Naftali, who was awarded NIS 170,000, and a 2020 suit by an unnamed worker.
