The notices were posted against the backdrop of a high-tech program for Haredi women in collaboration with the Defense Ministry.

Arad Mayor Yair Maayan filed a police complaint against an extremist Haredi faction, after they hung notices opposing women's employment on a board dedicated to stickers commemorating IDF fallen soldiers. Maayan called the perpetrators "violent extremist criminals" and claimed they likely reside outside of Arad. The notices were posted against the backdrop of a high-tech program for Haredi women in collaboration with the Defense Ministry. The municipality announced it would work to locate the suspects using city cameras. The incident joins a series of other incidents in the city, including footage of a Haredi man defacing images of women on advertising billboards, and marks the ongoing tension between the Haredi and secular communities in Arad, which peaked about two months ago in clashes and brawls over protests against the conscription of yeshiva students.
