Stolen from the IDF: LAWS, guns and grenades found in a hidden cache in a Ramla shelter

Central District detectives uncovered this morning a weapons cache in the shelter of a residential building in Ramla, containing a LAW missile, four guns and four fragmentation grenades, which are suspected to have been stolen from the IDF. A local resident in his 20s was arrested. Police are investigating how the weapons reached the site and for whom they were intended. Tomorrow, a request to extend his remand will be brought before the Rishon LeZion Magistrate's Court. Central District Commander, Commissioner Amir Cohen, called it a significant operational achievement.

The weapons are suspected to have been stolen from the IDF. A young man in his 20s, a local resident, was arrested. The cache was found as part of the fight against weapons offenses and serious crime in Arab society. Police are investigating how the weapons reached the site and for which parties and purposes they were intended. Tomorrow, police are expected to bring the suspect to the Rishon LeZion Magistrate's Court and request an extension of his remand. All weapons items were transferred to police forensic laboratories for testing and evidence extraction. Central District Commander, Commissioner Amir Cohen, said: "This is a significant operational achievement, in which dangerous weapons that could have been used by criminal elements to commit serious offenses were removed from the streets." He added, "We will continue to act with determination until all those involved are brought to justice, to ensure public safety and security."
