SpaceX released its first financial results since its historic IPO in June. The company's second-quarter revenue surged 92% year-over-year to $7.81 billion, above the average analyst estimate of $6.93 billion. Net loss narrowed 46.3% to $541 million, with a loss per share of 9 cents, while analysts had expected a loss of 26 cents per share. SpaceX's stock, which jumped 9.4% in regular trading on Wall Street, lost 5.7% in after-hours trading. The company began trading on June 12 at $150 per share, and since then the stock has lost 24%, erasing about $500 billion in market value. The share price is nearly 50% below its peak on June 16. Starlink led revenue with $4.29 billion, up 65.8%, and operating profit of $1.66 billion. The space division posted revenue of $962 million, up 29%, and an operating loss of $542 million. The AI business, which includes X, generated revenue of $2.56 billion, up 91.9%, and an operating loss of $1.26 billion. Capital expenditures surged 550.2% to $18.37 billion, led by AI infrastructure investments that jumped 2,013% to $15.83 billion. SpaceX recorded a loss of $4.9 billion in 2025, mainly due to large investments in AI infrastructure.
