Soldiers of Battalion 51 complain: "Walking a lot in 40-degree heat, 6 times a day - just to get to the dining hall"
Soldiers of Battalion 51 in the Golani Brigade complained about service conditions at Camp Filon: long walks in heavy heat to the dining hall, six segments a day, while officers move by vehicles. Many skip meals or spend money on outside food. A query to the IDF Spokesperson has not yet been answered.
Soldiers in Battalion 51 of the Golani Brigade approached a Walla reporter today (Wednesday) with a complaint about service conditions at Camp Filon, near the Sea of Galilee. According to them, the distance from the living quarters to the dining hall involves extensive walking each way, including a steep and complex climb. They report six walking segments a day, sometimes in heat conditions of about 40 degrees Celsius, while command ranks and officers move by vehicles. As a result, many soldiers skip regular meals or spend significant sums each month on ordering food from outside, a heavy financial burden for mandatory service. The soldiers emphasize their pride in service and commitment to their role, but request basic logistical solutions for access to meals. They asked to help raise awareness of the issue to receive a response from the relevant authorities. A question on the matter was forwarded yesterday to the IDF Spokesperson, and no response has been received yet.
