A fire broke out today (Saturday) in an underground parking lot at the construction site of the future BIG shopping complex in Petah Tikva, at the intersection of Jabotinsky and Moshe Dayan streets. Plastic and pipes stored at the site caused heavy smoke that spread over a wide area and toward the residential towers in the Neve Gan neighborhood. Fire and rescue teams from the Petah Tikva station were dispatched to the scene, and police forces also arrived. The Israel Fire and Rescue Services reported that firefighters are working to extinguish the flames, locate the source of the fire, and ventilate the underground parking lot. The heavy smoke is visible from a distance and covers a large area in the region. Operations at the scene are ongoing, and further updates will be provided as developments unfold.
