Medics and paramedics who arrived at the scene found him unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing, and began resuscitation. MDA emergency medic Shimon Kelapner said they performed advanced resuscitation and evacuated him to the hospital in critical condition. According to data from Beterem – Safe Kids Israel, since the beginning of 2026, six children have been killed as a result of choking, including the current case. Between 2021 and 2025, 22 children died from choking caused by an external factor. Orly Silvinger, CEO of the organization, said that choking is one of the leading causes of death among young children, and warned about bags, packaging, and small objects that can become a deadly trap.
