During the investigation, some claimed the victim was intoxicated and tried to run over a woman and a baby, but this version was rejected in light of the security camera footage. The Eilat Magistrate's Court extended the remand of four of the suspects by four days. Judge Ro'i Peri noted that there is reasonable suspicion against the suspects, but also asked to re-examine the claim regarding an attempted run-over by the victim. The judge criticized the police's version, stating that things do not appear in the video as they were presented.
