In the video, filmed wearing a keffiyeh, she said 'Allahu Akbar' and expressed commitment to justice. It was also revealed that on October 7, 2023, she rebuked Bernie Sanders for condemning Hamas, writing: 'What a disappointment. If you can't stand with people who were held in an open prison for 16 years and finally fight their oppressors, how can you claim to stand with justice?' In other posts, she attacked Thanksgiving, which she said is 'linked to genocide,' and wished that 'all empires fall.' El-Sayed, who won the primary by about one point over Haley Stevens, faces Republican Mike Rogers in November, who leads by about 4%. His campaign spent $2.1 million compared to Stevens' $62.2 million, who was supported by $32 million from AIPAC. The campaign said El-Sayed loves his sister but disagrees with her.
