Sister-in-law of Bar Asraf, who took his own life, says: 'He was happy'
Shir Asraf, sister-in-law of Bar Asraf who committed suicide at the cemetery next to the grave of his girlfriend Liron Barda, murdered at the Nova festival, told 103fm that Bar seemed happier than ever at his brother's wedding, but no one knew of his distress. She described his closeness to Liron, the depression preceding his death, and the shattered family.
Bar Asraf, who took his own life at the cemetery next to the grave of his close girlfriend Liron Barda, murdered at the Nova festival on October 7, left a shattered family. Shir Asraf, his sister-in-law, eulogized him today (Tuesday) in a conversation on 103fm, describing a man who seemed happier than ever at his brother Maor's wedding, but no one knew of his distress. She said Bar invested in the wedding, danced and hugged everyone, and even dedicated a song to his parents. However, in the past year he had changed, was 'extra' with the family, and two months ago was depressed. He spent much time at Liron's grave, cried when talking about her, and repressed his grief. In their last conversation, he told her he loved her and was looking forward to the wedding. The family, she said, is falling apart.
