Shots fired at ATV wheels and 12 arrested: police raid in the Negev

National Guard South fighters and Southern District police raided Rahat in Operation "Iron Net", located weapons, arrested 12 illegal residents, recovered two stolen ATVs, and fired at the wheels of an ATV driving recklessly. Its driver was arrested after a foot chase.

Last night (Sunday), National Guard South fighters of the Border Police and Southern District police conducted a widespread enforcement operation in the city of Rahat and its surroundings, as part of Operation "Iron Net" declared by the Police Commissioner. During the activity, weapons were located, including 5.56 caliber ammunition and two explosives, in an open area near the village of Tarabin. Additionally, an abandoned ATV was seized on the outskirts of Tarabin, which turned out to be stolen from Ofakim and was returned to its owner. 12 illegal residents were arrested. In a separate incident, on Highway 310, the fighters spotted an ATV rider driving recklessly and without a helmet. After he failed to heed orders to stop, a single shot was fired at the ATV's wheels. The suspect, a 34-year-old resident of Lakiya, fled on foot but was caught after a chase. In addition, during patrols in Rahat, a suspect threw a stone at the fighters and was arrested. All findings were transferred for further investigation.
