Shooting in Lakiya Sparks Panic in Karmit: Three Suspects Arrested

Police arrested three suspects in connection with a shooting and brawl in Lakiya that frightened residents of nearby Karmit. During an operation to locate those involved, forces spotted a suspect who fired shots and fled on foot; after a chase, he was found hiding in bushes. Two other suspects in their 30s were arrested. All three were transferred for questioning at the Ayarot station.

Police arrested three suspects on suspicion of involvement in a shooting and brawl in the Negev town of Lakiya, which frightened residents of nearby Karmit. According to a police statement, following a report of the incident, officers from the Ayarot station, fighters from the Sayeret HaHar brigade, and Border Police South fighters operated to locate those involved. During the operation, forces spotted a suspect who fired shots and fled on foot toward a wadi near residential homes. Officers conducted a foot chase using lighting equipment, and at its end, they found him hiding in bushes. During the operation, two additional suspects in their 30s were arrested. All three were transferred for questioning at the Ayarot station. Additionally, a separate incident was reported last Wednesday in Tel Sheva, where shots were fired at an electricity pole, and workers from the Electric Company who arrived to repair it were threatened and told to leave. In that case, two suspects, residents of Tel Sheva in their 20s and 30s, were arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
