Palestinian residents in the southern Hebron Hills claim that since the weekend, several attacks by settlers have occurred in the Masafer Yatta area, including stone-throwing, shooting, physical violence, and attempts to set houses on fire. Muhammad Abd al-Rahman Jabril, a resident of Wadi al-Rahim, said that around 2:30 AM, settlers came to the family home with containers of flammable material and tried to set the house on fire while his children were inside. He said police and the army arrive at the scene but do not prevent the continuation of events. Abu Karim, a resident of Idna, described an incident on Saturday afternoon where settlers came down from the hill and threw stones at his cousin's house, and claimed that a 14-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle and they fled with the bicycle. Abd al-Shanran, a resident of Wadi al-Rahim, reported an attack where about 40 settlers threw stones and fired shots, and Muhammad al-Shanran was wounded by gunfire in the shoulder. In total, about six people were wounded. In contrast, Jewish residents reject the claims and present a different version of the incident documented in Idna, where Israelis are seen beating a Palestinian. They claim the incident began with stone-throwing at shepherds, and that the video shows only part of the events. The IDF stated that forces jumped to the area after a report of arson, and that friction developed with stone-throwing in which an Israeli and two Palestinians were wounded. The shooting at the Palestinian was not carried out by the IDF, and the investigation was transferred to the police.
