An indictment is expected to be filed against a 31-year-old resident of Eilat for murder in the Katamon neighborhood of Jerusalem, on July 23. The suspicion arose after police were called to an apartment in Katamon following a report of a person found lifeless with signs of violence on his body. Detectives from the Jerusalem District Police (YMR) who arrived at the scene began focused operational and investigative activities, leading to the arrest of the suspect shortly after the incident began. The astonishing discovery was that just six days earlier, he had been released from a long prison term for another violent incident. The head of the investigation team at YMR Jerusalem, Chief Inspector Yitzhak Dahan, stated: "This is a serious and severe violent incident against a foreign worker who was caring for an elderly couple. From the moment we took responsibility for managing the investigation, we acted swiftly and with all the tools at our disposal to gather evidence, reach the truth, and arrest the suspect. Thanks to the diligent and professional work of the unit's investigators, we have established a solid evidentiary foundation that leads today to the filing of a prosecutor's declaration."
