Former Labor Party chairwoman Shelly Yachimovich revealed today (Sunday) that a cancerous tumor was discovered in her pancreas eight months ago. The tumor was removed surgically after being diagnosed at an early stage without metastases, and she is undergoing intensive chemotherapy treatments every two weeks to prevent its recurrence. In a personal post she published on social media, she said that CT scans show the tumor has not returned, but noted that this is a "bastard" cancer that must be attacked on all fronts. Yachimovich described difficult days but emphasized that she does not feel misery or fear, and attributed her approach to the horrors of October 7 and the past three years, which she said do not allow her a sense of victimhood. She said she rides a bicycle, goes to the beach, and meets with friends, and expressed deep appreciation for the medical teams at Ichilov and Clalit.
