A 44-year-old resident of Ashkelon was arrested on suspicion of hacking into hundreds of computers at dozens of companies, documenting victims in their homes and workplaces, including minors in the nude. The Cyber Department in the State Attorney's Office filed a severe indictment and a request for detention until the end of proceedings.

The National Cyber Unit in Lahav 433 completed an investigation against a 44-year-old resident of Ashkelon, who injected malware into hundreds of computers at dozens of companies in the private sector and the economy. The criminal activity continued from 2020 until his arrest in mid-August 2026. The suspect gained full control over the computers, performed thousands of screenshots and recordings, took over cameras and eavesdropped on victims in their homes and workplaces. He documented minors in the nude, downloaded files, and exported passwords and credit card details. The economic damage is estimated at over 2 million shekels. Last weekend, a severe indictment was filed at the Rishon LeZion Magistrate's Court, including offenses under the Computer Law, the Privacy Protection Law, the Wiretapping Law, theft, and indecent act. Alongside the indictment, a request for detention until the end of proceedings was submitted.
