Education Minister Yoav Kisch opened a front against the Teachers' Union, announcing an investigation into fund transfers to the union and a change in the collection mechanism. In his letter, Kisch addressed for the first time the personal campaigns Ran Erez ran against him, funded by millions of shekels from union coffers, and revealed suspicions that funds were transferred for teachers who are not union members. Kisch instructed the Education Ministry to prepare for changing the fund transfer mechanism through each teacher's pay slip. In response, the Teachers' Union accused Kisch of pressuring teachers and showing intolerance toward organized labor. Ran Erez claimed that Kisch fails to advance anything substantial in education and uses teachers as a backdrop for his Knesset run.
