The Southern District Prosecutor's Office of Israel submitted an indictment to the Ashkelon Magistrate's Court against a 70-year-old taxi driver from Eilat. The man is charged with sexual harassment and committing indecent acts against a young female passenger. The incident occurred about two years ago at night. The victim was returning home with her mother. After the mother got out of the car, the taxi driver demanded that the girl move from the back seat to the front. When she was distracted by her phone, the driver touched her thigh. Despite the passenger pushing his hand away, he repeated the gesture and cynically suggested going with him to a hotel, promising to "pamper and treat her to drinks." At the end of the ride, the taxi driver tried to convince the girl not to contact the police, but she filed a complaint. The suspect was questioned and temporarily released under conditions. Court proceedings will begin shortly.
