The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reported on Tuesday, August 4, that the average salary in Israel rose from 14,263 shekels in May to 15,223 shekels in June. The 6.7% increase is seasonal and follows a 10.4% decline from the March peak of 15,979 shekels. In high-tech, the average salary increased by 2.5%: from 34,870 shekels in April to 35,760 in May. Preliminary data for individual sectors are not published, so the high-tech statistics refer to May. Despite a decline in demand for specialists, the high-tech salary was 13.7% higher than in May 2025, when it stood at 31,459 shekels. However, the current figure remains below the historical maximum reached in March: then the average salary in the sector was 38,467 shekels, after which it decreased by 9.4%. The number of employee jobs continued to recover after the war and rose by 1.1% in June, from 4.168 million to 4.216 million. However, it remains below the 2025 average of 4.355 million and is almost at the 2023 level of 4.234 million. Thus, in terms of the number of jobs, the Israeli economy has effectively returned to three years ago.
