Salah: Gaza needs 1,000 aid trucks daily

Mohammed Salah, the general coordinator of the NGO network, warned of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, noting that the actual need ranges between 800 and 1,000 aid trucks daily, while only 200 to 260 trucks enter. He stressed that 90% of the population depends on aid, and that Gaza is on the brink of famine.

Mohammed Salah, the general coordinator of the NGO network, warned of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, noting that the actual need for the sector ranges between 800 and 1,000 aid trucks daily, while the number allowed to enter does not exceed 200 to 260 trucks. Salah stated, in remarks to the Safa news agency, that 90% of citizens depend on humanitarian aid, which only enters at 40% of the needs. He warned that Gaza will be on the brink of famine if the weak flow of aid continues, noting that the unemployment rate exceeds 85%. Regarding shelter, he explained that about 800,000 citizens live in worn-out tents as winter approaches, and that 77% of families live in tents. He pointed out that all Gaza residents live in only 30% of the Strip's area. In the education sector, he said that less than 40% of children receive educational services, warning that the situation will be catastrophic within two to three years.
