Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar was interviewed this evening (Saturday) on 'Meet the Press' and sharply attacked the previous government, which he called a 'failed experiment'. Sa'ar, who was formerly a partner in this government, explained that it is irrelevant to the reality after October 7, 2023. He defended his joining Netanyahu's government, claiming the prime minister handled security challenges of historic magnitude impressively, unlike Gantz, Eisenkot, Bennett, and Lapid, who he said would not have succeeded in handling even a small part of the challenges. Sa'ar clashed with journalist Ben Caspit, who told him 'you are a politician'. Regarding tensions with Turkey, Sa'ar said Israel has no interest in escalation and always prefers the diplomatic path, while clarifying that Israel will not accept the establishment of Turkish military bases in Syria. Sa'ar also stated he supports judicial reform but with his own ideas, and that Yariv Levin reached a certain conclusion after presenting an agreed proposal for selecting judges.
