Russian Air Defense Downs Drone Over Beach — Casualties Reported (VIDEO)
In Arkhipo-Osipovka (Gelendzhik), a drone shot down by air defense fell on a beach and exploded: at least six people were killed, including three children, about 40 were wounded, and 17 were hospitalized. Sirens did not sound.
In the resort village of Arkhipo-Osipovka, part of the Gelendzhik urban district in Krasnodar Krai, a tragic incident occurred: an unmanned aerial vehicle, struck by air defense systems, fell and exploded directly on the territory of a local beach where a large number of vacationers were present. According to reports from local residents and video footage from eyewitnesses, the fall was preceded by sounds of small arms fire and air defense operations shooting at an aerial target over the coast. As a result of the explosion and flying debris, at least six people were killed, including three children. About 40 more people received injuries of varying severity, with at least 17 victims urgently hospitalized, and four in serious condition. The situation was aggravated by the lack of timely warning: vacationers noted that air raid sirens were not activated. Emergency services and disaster medicine teams landed on the scene. Local authorities imposed temporary restrictions, and the regional operational headquarters confirmed the fact of destruction and casualties. According to preliminary information from analysts, the drone was moving toward a nearby infrastructure facility, but after being hit by a mobile fire group, it lost control and fell into a densely populated recreation area. Earlier, Kursor reported on the destruction of Russian fuel tankers by Ukrainian military en route to Crimea.
