Moscow threatened London with consequences after confirming that Ukraine used British drones to strike targets deep inside Russian territory. Russia's embassy in London said Britain had 'deliberately chosen the path of escalation of the crisis in Ukraine' and was acting 'as an accomplice and co-participant in bloody crimes and terrorist attacks.' Moscow stressed that the deeper Britain's involvement in the war, the 'higher the price it will have to pay.' Britain responded that it would continue to stand 'shoulder to shoulder' with Ukraine. A British Ministry of Defence spokesperson said London would continue providing Ukraine with equipment to defend against the 'illegal invasion of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.' The drones are produced by two British companies. Ukraine used them to strike military and industrial targets, including oil refineries and Wildberries warehouses. A military source confirmed to the BBC that British drones were used in the attacks. Estimated economic damage to Russia has exceeded 140 billion shekels. Russian threats came after a series of large-scale Ukrainian attacks. Last night, about 620 drones were launched toward the Moscow region, with over 180 destroyed. On Saturday night into Sunday, Ukraine launched about 822 drones, 600 of them toward Moscow. Seven people were killed across Russia. That same night, Russian attacks on Ukraine killed at least seven people and wounded more than 39. In April, the UK Ministry of Defence announced it would deliver tens of thousands of drones to Ukraine. Russia began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
