Romantic Scam in Lehavim: Man Corresponds with 'Woman' and Falls Victim to Brutal Ambush

A southern resident arrived at the town of Lehavim for a meeting with a woman he had been in phone contact with, but discovered he had fallen victim to a planned trap. Two 16-year-old boys, wearing motorcycle helmets and armed with a bat and a knife, attacked him, beat him until he fell to the ground, and threatened to stab him if he did not hand over his money. The victim gave them 1,300 shekels in cash. Afterwards, they sent him a threatening message not to go to the police. The prosecution emphasized that this was not about anti-pedophile activists, but rather two teenagers looking for 'easy money' through impersonation. An indictment was filed with the Juvenile Court in Be'er Sheva.
