Rom Braslavsky met the man who gave him hope in captivity: 'I'm in total shock'

Rom Braslavsky, a released hostage, met IDF Arabic spokesperson Avichay Adraee, who was a source of hope during his 738 days in captivity. Braslavsky said he secretly listened to Adraee's statements on Al Jazeera radio and described the meeting as closing a circle. He shared that Adraee was a well-known figure in Gaza and expressed deep appreciation for the support he received from afar.

Rom Braslavsky, a released hostage, shared today (Sunday) an emotional meeting with IDF Arabic spokesperson Avichay Adraee, which was a closing of a circle for him. During 738 days in captivity, Braslavsky secretly listened to Adraee's statements broadcast on Al Jazeera radio and drew hope from them. According to him, he heard Adraee every day and every attack, and listened intently to his speeches to the Gazan and Lebanese public. Braslavsky described Adraee as a well-known figure in Gaza, who covered the war from beginning to end and declared that the IDF would not surrender until all hostages were released. After his release, Braslavsky met Adraee together with fellow released hostage Sasha Troponov in Kfar HaMaccabiah. He recounted a long conversation that included a lot of Arabic, and a feeling of admiration and shock. Braslavsky noted that the meeting was the best closing of a circle, and concluded with gratitude to Adraee for what he was for him in captivity and what he is for him today.
