The police will ask the court to release him to house arrest, following a confrontation held yesterday between him and the employee who filed the complaint. The suspect was arrested last week at the end of a covert investigation that lasted about two months, on suspicion of committing sodomy while exploiting a position of authority. The investigation was opened following a complaint by a municipal employee about two incidents, and during it, suspicion of additional incidents dating back to 2021 was also examined. In the previous hearing, the police requested an eight-day extension of his remand, but the court extended it by five days. A police representative then said that the complainant had been questioned several times and that there were many involved parties in the case. The police tried to locate additional complainants but failed. The suspect's attorney, Adv. Israel Klein, argued that there is no authority relationship between his client and the complainant, and that it was "two adults who found themselves in a situation and there is no offense here." He further claimed that his client filed a complaint about threats and extortion related to a municipal move to require employees to come to work physically.
