A group of Israelis went on an uncoordinated hike on the outskirts of the Palestinian village of Sa'ir, near Hebron. During the hike, Palestinians from the village threw stones at them, causing injuries. In response, a security guard who arrived at the scene fired at the Palestinians, resulting in the death of one Palestinian and injuries to others. The IDF confirmed the incident and stated that a police investigation has been opened. The Palestinians claim that one of the right-wing activists carried out the shooting. It was also reported that a fire was set in a residential home in the village. In a separate incident, early in the morning, activists set fire to engineering equipment in Wadi Rahim and sprayed graffiti on building walls. An IDF force that was called in failed to apprehend the perpetrators. The events occur against the backdrop of previous clashes between right-wing activists and security forces in the village of Qusra about a week and a half ago.
