Returning to Tel Aviv: First United Airlines flight since February lands at Ben-Gurion Airport

United Airlines resumed passenger flights between Newark and Tel Aviv on Wednesday, landing the first Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner at Ben-Gurion Airport since before Operation Roaring Lion in February. The airline is currently operating two daily round trips, with a third planned from November, and will resume flights from Chicago, Washington, and San Francisco in the coming months.

The airline is currently operating two daily round trips on the route, with a third scheduled to begin in November 2026. United has also announced plans to resume direct flights from Chicago O'Hare and Washington Dulles starting in October 2026, and from San Francisco International Airport in March 2027. The San Francisco flights will offer the highest frequency of business class seats between the two cities, according to United. Delta Air Lines also returned to Israel on Monday, landing an Airbus A330-900neo from JFK over 40 minutes ahead of schedule. The resumption follows a period during which several airlines suspended operations to Israel due to Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks across the region.
