Reservists' Wives After the Recording That Stirred the Web: 'Support for Exemption Is a Knife in the Back'

In an interview with ynet's studio, Emunah Klein Bar-Noy and Ma'ayan Shtrit, wives of reservists, shared their feelings of exhaustion and daily breakdown following the sixth round of reserve duty for their partners since October 7. They referred to the recording of Bat-El Sananes, who burst into tears after her husband received another order, saying her feelings are familiar to all reservists' wives. Bar-Noy said her husband has already been inside for a month and a half, with more than 50 additional days, and they are 'not even halfway there.' Shtrit noted that in the last two rounds, the order was extended because 'there is no one to bear the burden.' They sharply criticized Knesset members who support exemption from conscription for Haredim, calling them 'Zionists' who cooperate with those who do not care about the future. Bar-Noy described how her children ask every morning and evening if Dad will be here, and she felt they are 'training for life without Dad.' Shtrit added that her daughter sadly says 'Dad is in the army,' and sometimes he cannot answer calls. They called on the public to support reserve families and on the government to ease the burden.
