Rescued from the depths of the Sea of Galilee: Three young people swept away and unable to return to shore
Three young people were rescued overnight from the depths of the Sea of Galilee after the rubber boat they were sailing on drifted to the middle of the lake and they could not return to shore. A United Hatzalah boat on a routine patrol located them in a state of mild dehydration, brought them aboard, and evacuated them to the marina. Their condition was defined as good and they did not need medical evacuation.
Three young people were rescued overnight (between Monday and Tuesday) from the depths of the Sea of Galilee after the rubber boat they were sailing on drifted to the middle of the lake, leaving them unable to return to shore. The United Hatzalah dispatch center reported receiving a call about a rubber boat that had drifted in the area of Shikmim Beach in Tiberias. The United Hatzalah rescue boat, which was on shift at the time and conducting patrols on the Sea of Galilee, arrived at the scene and located the three in a state of mild dehydration. The rescue team brought the young people aboard the United Hatzalah boat and evacuated them toward the marina, where organization teams joined them. Their condition was defined as good and they did not need medical evacuation. Yossi Okanin, head of the United Hatzalah branch in Tiberias, said: "A few minutes ago we successfully completed the rescue of three young men from the depths of the Sea of Galilee using the boat. Fortunately, their condition is good. It is important to note that since the beginning of the vacation, the United Hatzalah rescue boat has been on high alert to respond to any emergency."
